I just came back from a really interesting university talk at Alys' church haha. Can you believe it?! In less than 3 months time i would be in another city, on my own going to uni! WOW!!!

T'was different listening to real uni students telling us about their experience and how they cope in uni though. Because like you hear about how uni is going 2 be so wicked, with all the parties, drinking n freedom. But u don't really hear about the other side about uni, the "harsher reality" of uni i think.

I met some cool people and got their contacts. So now, I kind of know some people in Wellington already! Haha I have been quite worried about uni actually, especially about my hostel. I don't think I know anyone from my school who will be going 2 the same hostel as me! ): That's kind of scary i guess. It's scary too because i'm on my own, stepping onto new ground and out of my comfort zone.

But, well God is good; he knows my needs. At least now, I have some contacts in Wellington (:

Anyway, this guy (i forgot his name?) was talking about studying and why we study.

Why we study? This is exactly the question I have been subconsciously asking myself all my life as a student i guess haha I think lots of people ask themselves that right?

I guess we all study for our own reasons.

But I think today, I kind of came 2 a conclusion to why I study. It's not because my parents want me to, or because of the satisfaction when i get good grades (although, i think they do somehow play a part though).

For me, I've come to learnt that studying is a gift. Not everyone can study. Not everyone is fortunate enough to study. I know most of us hate studying. But I've heard people in third world countries who are dying just to study. I guess they are just so amazed at how much information there is in the universe, and all they want is just to share in a bit of it haha

Personally, studying also has another reason for me. I seriously hope that somehow what I've studied would benefit someone in the future. Like... this is my little secret for doing law in uni okay: I really hope that if i become a lawyer in the future i can help to fight cases for the abolishing of unfair laws against humanity (eg. Child slavery in third world countries).

Haha i guess its a little far-fetched. But we will see (:

Errr...i think i sound like a geek. Well, just to let u know, i'm not that obsessed about studying ok haha
